High School Maximizing Winter Sunlight for Your Solar Project: Tips from a DIY Enthusiast
I would like to add one more question, when a PV panel is rated for X watts, under what conditions can I assume it will achieve these numbers? Is there some standard whr/m2 that PV panels are rated? -

High School Maximizing Winter Sunlight for Your Solar Project: Tips from a DIY Enthusiast
I'm building a solar powered project to light a room. From what I find on the internet, the average of sun light is given. It seems like to make my calculations I need to know what the minimum amount of sunlight could be. I haven't been able to find a website that shows the min and max sun light... -

How Do I Solve Advanced Probability Problems Like Selecting Cars or Tires?
That gives the correct results thank, my problem I'm still having a hard time following the logic behind picking the numbers to work with. Here is another example from the book I can't find the logic If 3 of 20 tires are defective and 4 of them are picked randomly, what is the probability...- philipc

How Do I Solve Advanced Probability Problems Like Selecting Cars or Tires?
I'm not having much luck learning from the examples in my probability book, they only do the most of basic examples, I'm in need of some good examples and solutions, any ideas? For example here is the problem I'm trying to work on A car rental agency has 18 compact cars and 12 mid-size cars...- philipc

Solving Tension Problem with 3 Cables | Philip
I just solved it, thanks I do have the locations of the points where the cables are attached, so I can make the angles. What I was doing was breaking each tension into 3 parts giving me 9 unknowns. I found a similar problems solved where they only used the three tensions as unknowns and used...- philipc

Solving Tension Problem with 3 Cables | Philip
Doc, I was just wondering if there was a different approach that using 9 equations, some general laws I'm missing out on. To show the exact problem would be much harder than describing it, it's pretty simple, just imagine a mass hanging from three cables, and there three cables can be attached...- philipc

Solving Tension Problem with 3 Cables | Philip
I'm a bit stuck on a tension problem, I have a weight supported by three cables. I will have to admit, up to this point, I have been cheating on these tension problems. What I have been doing is writing various equations and using my TI-89 to solve the system of equations. This method has been...- philipc
