Bungee Jumping: Reasonable Assumptions for College Student's Adventure
A bored college student decides to try bungee jumping. He attaches an elastic bungee cord to his ankles and happily jumps off a tall bridge across a river. He ends up barely touching the water before the cord jerks him back up The length of the relaxed cord is y_e; the distance from the...- philo51

Find Angle Between Avec and Bvec: Rads Formula Explained
A(vec)=(2,1,-4) B(vec)=(-3,0,1) C(vec)=(-1,-1,2) whats the angle between Avec and Bvec in rads. i know the formula A(vec)*B(vec)= abs(A)*abs(B)*cos(theta) A(vec)*B(vec)=-10 so why won't cos^-1(-10/(21)(10)) work?- philo51

Maximum acceleration of a Porsche on a concrete surface?
yea i think i got that but I am not sure if the rest is right then u*N=ma (1.0*1460kg*9.81)/1460 = a? that doesn't seem right is there another force?- philo51

Maximum acceleration of a Porsche on a concrete surface?
A Porsche 944 Turbo has a rated power of 217 hp and a mass, with the driver, of 1460 kg. Two-thirds of the car's weight is over the drive wheels. What is the maximum acceleration of the Porsche on a concrete surface where static friction=1.0 1hp=476watts 217hp=103292 watts and power=...- philo51

Kinetic Energy of Cardinal & Baseball: Momentum Ratio
the 2nd question i got wrong too A man weighing 730 N and a woman weighing 500 N have the same momentum. What is the ratio of the man's kinetic energy to that of the woman ? so if p= sqrt(2Km) and P1= P2 sqrt(2K(man)m)=sqrt(2K(woman)m) and if i solve for Km/Kw why doesn't that work out?- philo51

Kinetic Energy of Cardinal & Baseball: Momentum Ratio
A cardinal (Richmondena cardinalis) of mass 4.50×10−2 and a baseball of mass 0.140 have the same kinetic energy. What is the ratio of the cardinal's magnitude of momentum to the magnitude of the baseball's momentum? i derived an equation of 1*p^2/2m and I am not sure where to go from there.- philo51
