in a polar form, you'll have the magnitude and a phase where a phase is nothing but actan(imaginary/real). thus in rectangular form indeed, you you'll have v(t) = x +jy wheer x = cos(phase) and y = sin(phase). Ok?

what happens when u apply DC voltage across the inductor? i.e is the voltage drop only across the series internal resistance of the coil? can we just determine this resistance by simply saying: V_supply = I x r(series)? or do we have to include the inductance?

actually I'm working on a radiation monitoring application that reads information from the gamma detector, processes it and display the monitored area radiation levels in an understandable format (probably in sievert)! so i'll need conversions like those!

how do i convert voltage readings, say from a PIN photodiode, to radiation dose rate equivalent (aka. sievert)? any equation? any help will be appreciated!
