Theoretical Physics (and Math) genius cult
I think it is a lot easier for a lay person to look at the works of Hesse and understand them because Hesse used language to convey his ideas; however, if they were to look at the work of a physicist or mathematician they would be less at home with the mathematical symbols and reasoning being used.- Pjennings

What Graduate Schools Can I Get Into for a Math PhD?
I am currently a senior at an American university and I intend on going to graduate school after finishing my final year. My current GPA is 3.73, but assuming I get straight A's my last two semesters when I graduate I could have a GPA around 3.85. Furthermore, I am a TA for the introductory...- Pjennings

Graduate How to Prove |G:H| = |G:K||K:H| for Quotient Groups?
As a way to keep busy in between semesters I decided to work my way through Algebra by Dummit and Foote in order to prepare for the fall. Working my way through quotient groups is proving to be quite difficult and as a result I'm stuck on an exercise that looks simple, but I just don't know...- Pjennings

Graduate Is Gamma Irrational? Investigating the Irrationality of Pi and e
No, we do not know if pi+e is irrational, but I don't think that one is very interesting. I think it would be interesting to know if γ(gamma) is irrational though.- Pjennings
