Hi all,
I am a non-traditional student recently back to school. I have just been accepted to Temple and Drexel University for engineering. For those of you who never heard of them they are part of the big 5 universities in Philadelphia. I am settled and need to commute to where ever I choose...
Give it some time someone will respond. I can't answer your question, but I also have been accepted to temple as a engineering transfer student, so I am interested to hear what people have to say about Temple. My decesions lies in whether I stay at Stockton State College and pursue a 4 +1...
As far as handling a tough degree, yea some degrees are much tougher than others, but as long as you are of average intelligence (which most of us are) it will be the dedication that gets you through it. This is something we get with age and experience. I can't speak on chemical engineering, but...
I can relate to going back to school north of 30. I started back a year ago and I am 32 now. Like you my wife has a good career and is able to support us while I am transition in a new career. I started out as a math major, but have now switched into a computational science major. It will take...
Thanks for asking.
Kind of a long story, so I will try to give you the short version. Early in High School I tested extremely high in Math (National Test Top 1%), but decided partying was more fun than taking more challenging classes. Went on to a small State school and received a B.A. in...
Hi all, I am 32 years old and have been back to school for a year now. I am working on my second degree in Math. It will take me 2 more years at a small state school in NJ that is costing me about $12,000 a year. Prior to school I owned and operated my own general contracting business.
My...
Micromass,
Thanks for the advice. I agree it seems a little watered down, but I would have to think that it should hold some weight because Rutgers is Nationally Recognized school. I think I am going to go for it.

Hi all. My question is- is it possible to do well in a Masters in Math Program even though I have not completed a BS in Math. Rutgers Camden has a Masters Program that I can get into as long as I have completed up to Calculus 3, and Linear Algebra. I am only in Calculus 2 now, but I was thinking...
Hello Mathnomalous. I am not qualified to speak about the entire road of a Physics degree, but I can speak to going to school later in life. I am 31 years old and have already completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (Useless). Long story , but I have decedied to go back as double...
Just another story. I am 31 and decided to go back for my second Bachelors. My first one was in Political Science (completely useless) and just started back for a BS in Math. The College I am going to also has a Master Program in Computational Science that I would like to complete after my...
Sure can't hurt, but you may need to formally take Pre-Calculus as a Pre-Requisite to Calc 1 since you didn't take Trigonemetry in High School. I am from NJ, not sure where you are from, but I recommend takeing Pre-Calculus at a Community College and see how you do. If you get an A or B then...
In my school u you can take physics one and Calculus 1 concurrently. So the only thing I would recommend is taking Pre-Calculus as soon as possible. Then you can take all the Maths right along with your Physics courses.
