Undergrad Experimental Data - Error in slope
I have conducted a tensile test on five specimens. I intend to do a linear regression for every set of data and get a value for the slope (modulus of elasticity) and its error by finding the standard deviation (using LINEST function on excel) of the slope. I will now end up with 5 slope values...- raniero

Is Chromoly the Ultimate Material for Racing Car Chassis?
I kind of lost hope of finding material in greater detail, I will have to see how to go about my literature review now.- raniero

Chromoly (41xx) tubes used in chassis
Thanks for your reply, I'll try to gather info from various sources then and compare the data myself although I think I will also find it difficult to find the data I require.- raniero

Chromoly (41xx) tubes used in chassis
Thanks for your help. I have found similar articles/papers before I posted, but I am in search for papers with more in depth discussions about the actual material advantages/disadvantages, testing and comparison to other materials. These articles just barely skim on material details, usually...- raniero

Is Chromoly the Ultimate Material for Racing Car Chassis?
What I meant by articles is published scientific material, I am able to find plenty of ordinary articles about chromoly, but I haven't been successful in finding academic, published, scientific papers. I require published material for my dissertation.- raniero

Is Chromoly the Ultimate Material for Racing Car Chassis?
I am in search for journal articles/papers regarding the use of chromoly (41xx) or HSS tubes in racing car chassis (space-frame) for a literature review. I wasn't able to find any papers up till now. Any help is greatly appreciated.- raniero

Freewheel/Ratchet Clutch - Combining multiple torque inputs
I was just seeing this animation of a freewheel clutch: Having the pedals instead of the gear teeth and the rotating shaft as the yellow part, wouldn't it mean that if the shaft is rotating faster than pedals the mentioned pedals wouldn't be doing any work (since the red part would never be...- raniero

Freewheel/Ratchet Clutch - Combining multiple torque inputs
That's what I was thinking originally, but I was concerned that if the passengers do not cycle at the same rotational velocity then the slower ones would not be doing any work.- raniero

Freewheel/Ratchet Clutch - Combining multiple torque inputs
So, if I use one like the picture below, and say I apply 3 different torques to 3 different gears on this freewheel, the output torque of the shaft should be the addition of these 3 torques right? I am still unsure how this will allow one of the 'engaged'/used gears to stop rotating while the...- raniero

Freewheel/Ratchet Clutch - Combining multiple torque inputs
Combining multiple sources with discrete gear sets won't allow the passengers to stop pedaling while other passengers are still cycling.- raniero

Freewheel/Ratchet Clutch - Combining multiple torque inputs
Hi, I am required to design a tandem bike where multiple torque inputs will be present at different speeds since persons on the bike will not be cycling at the same rotational velocity. From my understanding of freewheel clutches to transmit all the torques produced by the cyclists using...- raniero
