YES! Thats exactly what I was getting at! Thanks so much!

Graduate Does a proton age differently when accelerated at high speeds?

After doing a little thought experiment I conclude that the proton sent around the accelerator would indeed be younger...not by much mind you, but still, younger...am I correct?

Graduate Does a proton age differently when accelerated at high speeds?

Very quick question here that's bugging me. I go to the LHC and send a proton around at 0.999999991c. After 5 seconds of that speed I stop it and take it out. Has the proton become younger or older, by x years, than when it was put in? Thanks!

Graduate Breaking down the wave function

Please correct me if I am wrong as I am trying to get a better grasp on this. As of now my understanding is that my bed is in my room. But according to the wave function it is also "smeared" across other spaces. Therefore my bed is also in the dining room. There is a VERY small chance but...

Undergrad Blog: The Fascinating Possibilities of 2D Objects in a 3D Universe

How is it possible for a 2 dimensional object to exist in a 3 dimensional world? Even the atoms that make up everything in the universe are 3D. This being the case how can we say that our 3D universe is surrounded by a 4D world we cannot see? I guess what I am saying is if 2D objects can't...

Excellent. I am looking for that book on borders right now. Once again, thanks for the help buddy.

Graduate Is Time Truly the 4th Dimension?

So do we know for sure what the 4th spatial dimension is? I have read in many places that it is time. I would say this makes sense because we are perceiving time in 3 dimensional slices in our dimension. The same way a 2D being would perceive 2D slivers of a 3D object in its own dimension.

Graduate How does the concept of light speed affect our understanding of time?

Actually, do you know of any good books i can read on the topic? Relativity i mean.

Graduate How does the concept of light speed affect our understanding of time?

Wow that's a mouthful. I am starting to understand the concept now. Let me just read this over a few times :) Thanks for all the help on the subject. I appreciate your time.

Graduate How does the concept of light speed affect our understanding of time?

Forgive me if I am not catching on right away but the photons in that beam of light are moving at exactly "c" which would mean that everything around those photons has stopped moving including the target.
