Investigate Neptune: Unravel its Interior Mystery
thanks. i think can use one of those instruments. the instruments i seem to be looking at all look at the atmosphere. is there anything that could give hints about the "surface"? what else would be significant to find out about neptune? surrounding area, magnetic field, heat source...i can't...- relativelyslow

Investigate Neptune: Unravel its Interior Mystery
hello. i have to investigate neptune and i don't know what exactly to investigate. all i can find is that the interior is a bit of a mystery. what type of instrument (employed by a satellite) would be able to unravel this? i really need more than this but i don't know what else about neptune is...- relativelyslow

High School Studying Neptune: Investigating the Unknown
this is kind of a pressing matter and i don't know where to start because there are so many different things to measure (infrared, magnetosphere, make up, plasma something, is topography possible for neptune?). i really need help. if you just discovered a planet, what would you want to know...- relativelyslow

High School Studying Neptune: Investigating the Unknown
i am doing a project on neptune. a main constituent of this project is deciding what you want to investigate (scientific objectives) about neptune (multiple things can/should be studied). i seem to be having trouble with this. i can't think of much to study because i don't really know what's...- relativelyslow

Stargazing Building a DIY Radio Telescope: Worth the Time and Effort?
if you look at the parts needed from radio shack it says a .1 mhz rf choke. is this correct or is it a typo? i can't seem to find one at radio shack or even online. at radio shack they had (i think) a 1 khz choke and it looked like the one in the pictures (i think this was the only choke they...- relativelyslow

Does Russia have a good physics program
thats a really long train ride. are there stops or is it continuous? i ask about russia because i think the language is really cool and at college it would be awesome to take a semester abroad there. plus, I am wondering if there is any alternative to the united states. are there any freedoms...- relativelyslow

Does Russia have a good physics program
hola. i have inquiries about inhabiting russia. does russia have a strong physics orientation (are there many research or physics opportunites)? is there anything in particular that would deter me from living there (ubiquitous poverty, evil tyrants, terrorism, bad things...)? i think it would be...- relativelyslow

Undergrad Explore the Mysteries of Neptune's Magnetic Field
hello. i am taking a planetary astronomy class and at the end there is a final project due. the project is "designing" a satellite mission within our solar system. we are to pick something (one thing) and visit it (it can be anything from asteroids to planets to moons, excluding earth, the sun...- relativelyslow

Undergrad Possibility of an electric flame thrower?
hmm...excellent. how would one acquire this charged gas? is there a difference between my proposal and the discovery channel experiment? i would be shooting electricity directly into the gas stream whereas their electricity seemed to be the result of shooting something else into it.- relativelyslow

Undergrad Possibility of an electric flame thrower?
possibility of an electric "flame"thrower? this idea has kind of been laying quietly in my thoughts for a month or two. if i take something that emits electric bolts, like a tesla coil, would i be able to direct the bolts with a stream of oppositely charged gas (i imagine the stream of air...- relativelyslow
