Basic Thermal Conductivity Question
Differential equations yes. Linear algebra... I think there is a class dedicated to that? If that's what you meant, no, but I have done the basics they put into college algebra and trig level courses.- Roq

Basic Thermal Conductivity Question
edit: not sure why this was moved to homework - it isn't. Hi :) I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this, but I hope someone can set me straight. As a second year university chem student I feel I should know this. In this question about thermal conductivity, I realize that it is a subject to itself...- Roq

Problem finding tangential acceleration
Hello, I'm having problem finding tangential acceleration. I was trying to find some examples of this being done in my book and on the web, but I couldn't. So I hope someone can help me with this. The problem is: "A point on a rotating turntable 20.0cm from the center accelerates from rest to...- Roq

Why do you have [H] = 2.148 x 10^-5? pH = -log[H] 4.668 = -log[H] 10^-4.668 = [H] edit: Oh lol, I should've put that in my calculator before posting.. they're the same thing. I wasn't thinking straight.- Roq

Solve pH & pKb Problems - Get Answers Now!
For the first one, the HCl is in excess, so all of the base will be used up. You need to calculate the total number of moles of the base and the HCl (n/V=M), then subtract the moles of HCl by the moles of the weak base, and use that to calculate the amount of H+ produced. Don't forget to adjust...- Roq

The auto-ionization of H2O equilibrium
I'm trying to conceptually understand a question that I was wondering about while reading about Acid and Base Equilibria. Since a strong acid such as HCl completely reacts to give Cl- and the hydronium ion, and Cl- is then inert, then the only equilibrium going on is Kw. Kw = KbKa =... -

Tricky equilibrium constant question
Thanks for the help guys. My friend gave me the answer from the solutions manual. The part I was missing was this: Assume there are 100 grams of CO and CO2. This will give the number of moles of CO and CO2. The number is arbitrary, but any chosen number will result in the same...- Roq

How do I do that? I only see one step to solve for V... dividing nRT by 1 atm, which does not go anywhere.- Roq

Tricky equilibrium constant question
Hi, I'm completely out of ideas for this problem, and any help would be really appreciated. Homework Statement At 850 degrees C and 1 atm pressure, a gaseous mixture of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in equilibrium with solid carbon is 90.55% CO by mass. Find the equilibrium constant...- Roq

Can You Solve This Tricky Equation Without Pen and Paper?
Are you supposed to be allowed pen and paper for #2? It looks just like simultaneous equations, but to attempt it without paper seems a little agonizing.- Roq
