    High School What is the derivation of this equation: d = t sin θ [ 1 - (n cosθ / n' cosθ)]

Right! so I am trying to find the Refractive Index of liquids using a laser and diffraction grating. So under by using this formula and deriving it further from here we can measure the RI. Here is the image for that. This it where it comes from. t = thickness of container (constant) cos θ...

    High School What is the derivation of this equation: d = t sin θ [ 1 - (n cosθ / n' cosθ)]

Hi, Could someone please tell me how to derive this formula by using Wave Phenomenon d = t sin θ [ 1 - (n cosθ / n' cosθ)] I think some of it is derived using Brewster's Principle and the Refractive Index but I cannot tell how? Thanks.

High School What is the concept of Physics of Cymatics (of a liquid)

Yes I have studied waves and resonances but I don't understand what is going on with the patterns of the cymatics

High School What is the concept of Physics of Cymatics (of a liquid)

Hi, Could someone please help me about what is the physics concept behind Cymatics. Is there a formula which establishes the patterns form on a liquid when the frequency or amplitude are changed? Thanks.

If the Pendulum doesn't follow Harmonic Motion can we still use the formula 1) T = 2π Root(L/g) ? 2) If not, how can I calculate gravity g?

Undergrad How to Prove that a Flying Pendulum follows SHM

Actually I am working on a particular type of pendulum called the Flying Pendulum. I did not find anything on the internet on the physics behind its working and so I am trying to prove that in order for a clock to function, the movement has to be isochronous! The pendulum should follow SHM. I...

Undergrad How to Prove that a Flying Pendulum follows SHM

Hi, I was wondering if someone could please help me to understand : 1) How can I prove that a Pendulum is following SHM? 2) Also, does being isochronous also mean that the pendulum is following SHM? Thank You very much.
