What is the tension in a rope accelerating a 1000 kg car upward at 0.80 m/s²?

It says you're pulling against gravity as the car moves upwards. Means you have to have at least 9800 N just to hold the thing steady. 800 would be right if it was moving vertically.

    Solving Collisions in 2 Dimensions

Homework Statement A 0.321 kg puck, initially at rest on a horizon- tal, frictionless surface, is struck by a 0.227 kg puck moving initially along the x-axis with a speed of 2.51 m/s. After the collision, the 0.227 kg puck has a speed of 1.51 m/s at an angle of 31 degrees to the...

How Do You Calculate the Center of Mass for Multiple Objects?

    Thanks so much! Would the answer be: In the X direction ((5x3) + (7x5) + (1x9))/13=4.54 In the Y direction ((5x8) + (7x2) + (1x6))/13=4.6

How Do You Calculate the Center of Mass for Multiple Objects?

Three balls with masses of 5 g, 1 g, and 7 g, respectively, are connected by massless rods. The balls are located (in meter intervals) as in the figure. Imagine the first quadrant of a graph. The 5 gram is at point (3,8) The 7 gram is at point (5,2) The 1 gram is at point (9,6) What do do to...
