Making a plant stable with a compensator based on given requ
Looking at the root locus plot for the plant, it seems like the gain margin is really small to begin with. If I'm going to add a phase lead at high frequency at the cost of gain margin, to me it seems like might as well as use a PID controller to easily satisfy the requirement. So am I right to...- shuh

Using expm of matlab to plot state responses
Homework Statement The state space model of a nonlinear system is x'_1(t) = 2x^2_2(t) - 50 x'_2(t) = -x_1(t) - 3x_2(t) + u(t) where x_1(t) and x_2(t) are the states, and u(t) is the input. The output of the system is x_2(t). Find the zero input response (u(t) = 0) of this system linearized at...- shuh

Finding the unknowns of irrational equation
And yes, this can be solved very easily. Set u = x^2 + 7x + 10 u + \sqrt{u + 2} = 0 \sqrt{u + 2} = -u u + 2 = u^2 u^2 - u - 2 = 0 u = 2, -1 Now set the each corresponding u to two different equations x^2 + 7x + 10 = 2 x^2 + 7x + 10 = -1 Solve for x.- shuh

How Do You Represent High Impedance States in Verilog?
You actually can have the states as high-impedance. In your case, it would be 16'h? or 16'hz would work. There is no such thing as unsized hex number. Even if you forget to declare the size, by default, verilog would size it as 32 bit.- shuh

Which members are zero force in this truss using the joint method?
I'm not sure how you got BC,CD,FE,DE as zero force members. Here are couple more you may be able to find- Sum up the forces in x and y directions in joint E. What does that tell you about CE? Then sum up the forces at joint C. What does that tell you about CF?- shuh
