Graduate Stimulated Emission = Stimulated Absorption
I'm curious as to why you would think stimulated emission would be less. If it makes sense mathematically what is making you think it should be any different?- Silver_rose

Difference between an elastomeric protein and polyprotein?
I had to look this up to even get a clue, so I don't really know but - Here's a definition of an elastomeric protein: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11084370 As far as I can tell the elastomeric protein can take more stress than a polyprotein, because it states they can withstand...- Silver_rose

Why Did You Choose Your Avatar for Wikipedia?
Da Vinci's Leda and the swan, but hand drawn and only Leda's head. I have it because one day when I was a teenager, I was looking up Da Vinci art on google, and I stumbled upon this picture, I thought it would make a nice Avatar.- Silver_rose

Type 1 and 2 diabetes at the same time, nonsense?
In my case, maybe, but I'm a very special case. A little back story - mid to late 2012 I was placed in a hospital for a month with a rather fierce gall stone induced necrotising pancreatitis. I lost most function in my pancreas and had to have my gall bladder removed. This lovely situation put...- Silver_rose

Why is Tanning Bad? - Pros and Cons Debated
It has been pointed out that the production of vitamin D is a necessary process inside your body and it is, but the reason why tanning is so bad has a lot to do with the brown pigment that is created due to the exposure of UV radiation. This brown pigment is called melanin and it is created by...- Silver_rose

Bucket list - things to do, places to go/see
I've always wanted to travel, starting with my own country - Northern most Australia and Southern most Australia; trekking through the Tasmanian forests. Then travel all over Europe, visit rural Russia in winter, go to Egypt and visit the city that shares my name. I would love to see all these...- Silver_rose

Cracking an egg, why didn't I think of that before?
Use your imagination? :p When I used to do it I would be mixing the ingredients I put the egg/s into. But I guess it would always depend on what it was I was cooking/baking.- Silver_rose

Biological Machinery i.e. living pumps
I'm not sure entirely what you're getting at, but are you talking about replacing a car engine with a model similar to that of a heart? Because while I know very little about the engine of a car, I don't think the two would be interchangeable. Physiology is only one facet of the chemical...- Silver_rose

Undergrad Do you translate mathematics or understand it natively?
I consider Math to be a language on its own, so when I find there's a lack in understanding there is a need for translation. So if I understand it, I read it as it's native. If I don't and it needs further thought, I translate it back to English sometimes to cement the process.- Silver_rose

How can i stop talking to myself while studying?
I do this when I reading through a concept I don't straight away understand, I read it aloud, whether it be mathematical or literary. It helps me understand what it is I'm reading, I consider it a learning technique, so it doesn't bother me.- Silver_rose

High School What's is the best way to indicate a vector
I use the arrow and it seems like it's pretty standard notation from all of my textbooks to do it that way, so that's how I do it.- Silver_rose

How Does a Future Scientist Balance Passion for Physics and Diverse Interests?
I too, am a lover of science. I have been in love with Physics for 8 years now and have just entered my second year of university in my Bachelor of science, majoring in physical sciences. I hope to obtain a PhD and work in either field of theoretical or quantum physics. Physics, isn't the only...- Silver_rose
