COVID Effectiveness of COVID policies
I was wondering if anyone had any data on the effectiveness of Covid policies on Covid transmission. Ill start, keep in mind my information comes from an email I was sent by the college and their site not a research paper, at Merrimack college masks are currently required in "certain indoor...- Stephenk53

Writing: Input Wanted Cliffhangers in Fiction: Do Readers Prefer Hard or Soft Endings?
Personally I hate hard cliffhangers even though they are a useful tool to get me to read the next book. I would suggest using a soft cliffhanger since they can make people more interested in the next book while not being annoying. In addition, if a writer uses frequent cliffhangers I am more...- Stephenk53

COVID Reaction to COVID-19 Vaccine (or what to be prepared for)
By the way, roughly 6 months ago I got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and on Saturday (two days ago at time of writing) I got the Moderna booster, and this morning I got a flu vaccine. I got them in different arms and unsurprisingly my reaction to the flu vaccine was more mild compared to the...- Stephenk53

COVID Reaction to COVID-19 Vaccine (or what to be prepared for)
My vaccine was months ago, I got the Johnson and Johnson (only one I could get at the time unless I wanted to drive for two hours). I had to work that day and the following day, the first day I also had to bring in a large delivery to my small convenience store on my own since it is a small...- Stephenk53

Today I Learned
Today I learned that it’s important to check to make sure you click reply and not reply all to an email sent to dozens of people. Now I keep getting reply’s from people trying to reply to the first email and instead accidentally replying to mine.- Stephenk53

Electronics Sites/companies used for electric parts
Hello, I am building a battery pack to charge my laptop cooling pad and I am looking at batteries for it. I decided on LiPo because it is thin and thus should fit better on the cooling pad. I do not need help with the design since I am planning on using pre-made parts (although if you are...- Stephenk53

Do you think it's safe to have bleach go down house pipes?
I might get that for my job, my brother and I only work weekends and as far as I know we are the only ones who use draino so the pipes get clogged all the time (I work in a gas station that sells coffee and food that we cook). Not to mention I don’t think our draino breaks down the plastic bags...- Stephenk53

Today I Learned
Today I learned that your car battery can die and be unable to be jumpstarted without any prior signs of trouble. I also learned that my boss and the director know how to jumpstart a car.- Stephenk53

Finding the Strongest Low-Density Material
I think he is trying to ask “what is the strongest multi-purpose material possible to ever make?” Which is still unanswerable because we do not know what that limit would be because we have not reached that limit. It is a lot like if a person from the colonial era asked what is the fastest a...- Stephenk53

Substitute vs Full Time Teacher: Requirements and Licensing in Massachusetts
You could also try assisting in a classroom, I would recommend in an area that is known for having poor students because then it’ll give you a better idea if you truly want to teach. However, neither subbing nor being an assistant would help much with truly knowing what it’s like to be a...- Stephenk53

What is the Safest Rule of Thumb for Designing with a Safety Margin?
As a general rule of thumb what do you guys think is an ideal minimum safety margin when designing something? I know that this is a very broad question and could vary depending on the situation (ie something on a static load may need a smaller margin than dynamic) and since I do not have a...- Stephenk53
