How far does a rocket-powered hockey puck land from the base of the table?

mistake: i didn't use the whole equation to figure out the horizontal acceleration. i should have used this equation: x=v_f*T +1/2 at^2 thanks for all the help. i really appreciate it :D

How far does a rocket-powered hockey puck land from the base of the table?

yeah i made a mistake with the number. i got 0.685 sec for the time when i plugged 230 m in instead of 2.40 N. for that answer, i got 1.90 meters but i was still wrong. as for accelerating horizontally, wouldn't it be accelerating vertically instead of horizontally?

How far does a rocket-powered hockey puck land from the base of the table?

Homework Statement A rocket-powered hockey puck has a thrust of 2.40 N and a total mass of 2.40 kg. It is released from rest on a frictionless table, 3.80 m from the edge of a 2.30 m drop. The front of the rocket is pointed directly toward the edge. How far does the puck land from the base...

i don't know :( (thanks for all your help btw)

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

i added 1122 m/s and 19074 together then multiplied by 1000 to get km...wait, i did that wrong didn't i? do i have to use another equation to figure out the other height..?

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

so i add those two together right? its asking for the answer in km. so if i add the two distances together and multiply by 1000, i'll get the right answer? (i already have an answer but I'm not sure if it's right. i got 20196000 km)

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

additional height? I am kind of confused

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

okay. i used that equation v^2=2*a*t (1122)^2=2(33)x x=19074 km and i got that as my answer. that's correct, right?

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

then i use d=vi*t+1/2at^2 right? when i used that equation, i got 38709 m as my answer. is that correct or do i need to rethink what equation i need to use?

Determine a rocket's altitude; how long rocket is in air

Homework Statement A 200 kg weather rocket is loaded with 100 kg of fuel and fired straight up. It accelerates upward at 33 m/s^2 for 34 s, then runs out of fuel. Ignroe any air resistance effects. A) what is the rocket's maximum altitude? B) how long is the rocket in the air? Homework...
