Organic Chemistry Resources for Advanced Students

Allright. What I am having problems with is redox-reactions and titration. I have no specific questions. But my textbook does not make it clear enough. I see only figures and numbers and that makes it difficult. I can't learn from numbers and figures. I learn from definitions, written...

Fearing Death: A Flaw in the Human Mind?

Yes, this is true - in some lucky cases. Nor everyone meets death peacefully after having lived a long life. To some, death comes in form of and accident or an unpredictable illness. I second this. It seems that we cling to life because of an anxiety. I would not live forever if I was...

I'm looking for explanations, definitions and principles. Figures would also be nice!

Studied cloning the way it is done

Good question. All the scientists I have heard say that cloning a human being is their goal. They never say why. Two benefits, if they indeed are benefits, are smarter minds and that the parents can have a substitute of their dying son or daughter. Cynical if you ask me. But that's science, I...

Organic Chemistry Resources for Advanced Students

I have been searching like crazy for different and easier material on organic chemistry for higher level students on the net, but it's hard to find. I assume that there are knowledgeable participants on this part of the PF and I would like to ask if someone knows of a good link? :smile...

Fearing Death: A Flaw in the Human Mind?

But the expectation is not final. Expecting death does not mean that you are accepting it. Acception and expectation is a habit, something you must get accustomed to, not the meaning with growing old and getting closer to death. Isn't that so? (...That's allright, take your time..! :nod)

Fearing Death: A Flaw in the Human Mind?

I don't feel that having mattered something during your life will calm your fear of death. When having tasted the goods of life and seen many things, one rarely wants that to be taken away. Death means the end of your perceptions and mind, and you will not be able to feel anything any longer...

What is the Neurobiology of Intelligence?

Very interesting! :p I have only read the two first pages and browsed the rest. This does not seem revolutionary to me. Is this a new "discovery"?

The race towards an early grave or grace?

Technology today is so focused on efficieny, proficiency and producivity. Cloning to create better humans, faster transportation, longer work-days and computerised everyday experience. Is it worth it? For anyone who believes in evolution: Have you created machines that we ourselves cannot...

Fearing Death: A Flaw in the Human Mind?

Death is inacceptable and always will be. No one is looking forward to it. Fear comes because no one knows what it is like to die or if death leads you to a new life or not. Speaking for myself, I found peace in God. Without him I would not have any reason not to dread death.

Can Imperialism and Social Darwinism Be Justified?

Norway has always been hostile towards a membership in the EU. The reason why is because we know how much control will be taken from the Norwegian parliament. Teeny tiny Norway will not have a prick to say if it submits to the superpower. Norway is very fine economically. In fact, one of the few...

Can Imperialism and Social Darwinism Be Justified?

Yep, yep. I'll have to find updated information on the connections between Norway and the EU, and all the other countries that have signed such treaties with the EU, before I can say more.

Can Imperialism and Social Darwinism Be Justified?

Well, I stick to my opinion that it is a imperialism. Not like what it was in the Age of Imperialism/the Victorian period. Rather a modern, "diplomatic" and sneaky strategy.

Delusive. The sentence above that I read exists, but my eyes do not have the capacity of seeing everything at once.
