What did you get for Christmas this year?
I got a lot of Arduino stuff, a really nice gunn oscillator to experiment with (10 GHz), a couple of movies, and some normal stuff. Pretty good so far. I ended up spending a lot more on someone's Christmas gift than I expected, but it's good, she will like it (I have to give it to her next week...- theobserver

Undergrad Creating a Vector Field from a 3D Parametric Equation
I am trying to turn a 3D parametric equation into a vector field for an experiment, but I am not having much luck. [x,y,z]=[r*cos(u),r*sin(u),a*u] is the equation, I'm using grapher on the Mac. I want it all going in a helix, which is what the equation is for. Thanks!- theobserver

Undergrad Graphing Particle Motion in 3D on iPad App
I just decided to use a computer. I think I can only do surface plots on the iPad :(- theobserver

Undergrad Graphing Particle Motion in 3D on iPad App
It needs to be a single equation. Cartesian coordinates are preferred.- theobserver

Can a Smaller, More Powerful Microwave Source Replace Triode Amplifiers?
Funny thought lol :P That wouldn't work, it isn't nearly enough, wrong frequency, ant the pulses must be only half to one cycle long each. It is a challenge.- theobserver

Can a Smaller, More Powerful Microwave Source Replace Triode Amplifiers?
Working on it, the last one wasn't megawatts, it was in the kilowatt range. I have seen older russian magnetrons that are pulsed and approach one megawatt for radar systems, but the pulse is too long. Same problem with the newer systems. I need the pulse to be a single cycle long at 10-11.5 GHz...- theobserver

Can a Smaller, More Powerful Microwave Source Replace Triode Amplifiers?
I have been working with a large number of triodes amplifiers in parallel pulesed by a large thyratron tube. Earlier, many of the triodes decided to arc and melt. The amplifier was huge and I need to replace it. I need a design for a microwave source that is small and more powerful (megawatts)...- theobserver

Undergrad Graphing Particle Motion in 3D on iPad App
I have been working on something in my spare time and I have to graph the particle's motion in three dimensions because trying to explain it in words has not been working. How can a helix be graphed without parametric equations (the iPad app I'm using will not work with parametric equations)...- theobserver
