Need help with physics symbols in question
The reason why I discarded B is because it has mass in the formula and it doesn't have the Q for heat. BTW I really appreciate your help. Thanks :-)- Tweek

Need help with physics symbols in question
Yeah I am familiar with the proportional to symbol but on the work sheet it gives this ¡Ø It might be an error. In this case I think c makes the most sense. I think answer c means temp change is directly proportional to the quantity of heat added.- Tweek

Need help with physics symbols in question
Homework Statement I'm taking an online physics course and I do not understand what the symbols mean in the question. The question is: Which of the following is a shorthand way of stating that "the temperature change of a substance is directly propertional to the quantity of heat added"...- Tweek

Graduate Why general relativity and quantum mechanics are incompatible?
It has to do with that theory of quantum mechanics and that electrons don't follow classical mechanics. Electrons remain in an unknown orbital path around a nucleus which doesn't follow the laws of classical electromagnetism. They are unpridictable. The problem with general relativity is that...- Tweek

News NY Times discloses secret Executive Order: NSA is spying domestically
I think Einstein said it best "Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts." I voted for Kerry haha and I was actually a Dean supporter. Yeah you would be surprised by how many people in the Intel community don't agree with Pres Bush on many things. There is not a...- Tweek

News NY Times discloses secret Executive Order: NSA is spying domestically
I understand this is a touchy subject and that you feel very vulnerable and threatened knowing that your conversations may not be private. That information was never intended to leak out. It was necessary at the time because of the situation the gov was put in. We were unable to predict Sep 11...- Tweek

News NY Times discloses secret Executive Order: NSA is spying domestically
It's all a game of cat and mouse. The government is not out to harm citizens and take away their rights. One of the primary functions of the gov is to insure stability. The gov cannot provide that stability when persons are allowed to infiltrate our territory and cause mass civilian casualties...- Tweek

High School Where Can I Find a Vacuum Tube for Household Object Experiments?
I'm prepared to spend some money on it. My physics teacher from long ago had one. I want one just like his. It had a clear tube so you could watch the penny and feather inside of it fall at the same speed.- Tweek
