What Do Numbers Tell Each Other in a Joke?

while that may be entirely correct, and to some, easy, that's not something I can even understand. No, it's much easier than that. ;) Don't overthink this one, the answer smaller than you think

War Games: Good or Bad? Debate and Impact on Attitudes

Ok, first off, in typical Canadian fasion, I'm sorry to have offended you, since it appears that I have. I'd just like to state that this is a discussion, and I was looking for other peoples' opinion on the matter, not 'yapping' as you claim. As a matter of fact I asked for others' "thoughts?"...

What is the linear acceleration of the .67kg mass?

It has come to my attention that i'll also need moment of inertia, I the pulley would be a solid disk, so I = 1/2 mr^2 So I = .5(13N)(.075m^2) I = .037 that's just taking into account the weight of the pulley alone. Or do I have to add the weight of the mass and the 25N force too?

What is the linear acceleration of the .67kg mass?

Ok here's the question; "You pull downward with a force of 25N on a rope that passes over a disk-shaped pulley of mass 1.3 kg and radius 0.075m. The other end of the rope is attached to a .67-kg mass. (a) Us the tension in the rope the same on both sides of the pulley? If not, which side...

War Games: Good or Bad? Debate and Impact on Attitudes

It seems this has been a timeless debate. I'm sorry if this has been posted already, but I've searched the forums to no avail. Recently I saw a commercial for a first person shooter video game. When I learned it was a game, I was astonished, because it looked so real, I thought for a moment...

News Is It Possible for a Single Person to Save the World?

I don't know if anyone remembers, but a couple years ago Bono (of the band U2) was on the cover of Time magazine. That fact was/is improtant to hardcore U2 fans because something like only 3 bands have been on the cover ever, but anyway, that's beside the point. The headline of that magazien...

What Happens to Your Mind When You Lose All Five Senses?

This is such a cool thread. I love the diversity, from the 'i'd rather die' camp to the 'blisssss' camp. That rocks. If you couldn't sense anything at all, I imagine it would either cause a blissful feeling or a feeling of sheer panic, but ultimately you'd die of exposure, starvation...

Why do people ask why life exists?

I totally agree. I remember first year astronomy class (last year) when the prof was talking about that same thing. I've always thought that the idea of 'these that things had to be so precise and the factors that could not be changed life would not exist is so amazing' debate to be blatantly...

Reading macbeth in my english class

Here's another tid-bit I dug up on him. http://www.sparknotes.com/shakespeare/macbeth/characters.html Since Banquo is described as a 'noble general' and stands as an opposite of MacBeth (taking the opposite path from MacBeth) it would follow that he would be somewhat monarch-like (like...

Reading macbeth in my english class

You're right, he doesn't really play a significant role, but he does become king after Malcolm, perhaps that's what you're getting at? Physics or not, there would be little math without words and few words without math http://www.thelandofmacbeth.com/fleance.htm Hope this helps (god, I...
