Constant Rate of Change in Area of Circle with Changing Radius?

I mean, I guess it would, but I don't really know how to explain it.

Constant Rate of Change in Area of Circle with Changing Radius?

Homework Statement A stone dropped into a still pond sends out a circular ripple whose radius increases at a constant rate of 3 ft/s. Does the area also increase at a constant rate? Homework Equations A = ∏r2 The Attempt at a Solution dA/dt = 2∏r(dr/dt) dA/dt = 2∏r(3ft/s) What now?

    Calculating Force Using Work-Energy Relationships

Homework Statement A body of mass 8 kg moves in a straight line on a horizontal frictionless surface. At one point in its path its speed is 4 m/s, and after it has traveled 3 m, its speed is 5 m/s in the same direction. Use work-energy relationships to find the force acting on the mass...

What Is the Domain and Range of G(F(x))?

Well i thought the denominator could not equal 0, so I did √(2x-1) - 2 ≠ 0 and got x ≠ 3/2. For the numerator I thought that square roots can't be negative, so they should be >/= 0. So i did √(2x-1) there and got x </= 1/2. I don't know how to get the range from here, little confused

What Is the Domain and Range of G(F(x))?

    Homework Statement If F(x)=√(2x-1) and G(x) = x/(x-2), find G(F(x)) and its domain & range. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution G(F(x)) = ((√2x-1)/(√(2x-1)-2) x ≠ 3/2, x </= 1/2 Where do I go from here?

    Solving for x in P(x) = √6+5x-x2

    Homework Statement P(x) = √6+5x-x2 Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution P(x) = √6+5x-x2 -x2+5x+6 >/= 0 x2-5x-6 </= 0 (x-6)(x+1) </= 0

What is the displacement of two cyclists and a fly when they meet?

Thanks a lot, you really helped me understand this better. From where I started, I actually feel idiotic now haha.

What is the displacement of two cyclists and a fly when they meet?

cyclist a is 30 m distant from start, b is 40 but meets at 30, and the fly is 60 but meets at 30. I have this feeling that i know what it is but answering it is confusing, like the other two have reached before cyclist a .

What is the displacement of two cyclists and a fly when they meet?

After one hour they are 35 km apart. Thus, after two hours, they'd meet. I see... :) Now how would I use that in a formula is the question.
