Coordinates given, find whether a point is inside or outside
KoGs is right, you do need a function. I would recommend starting with a distance formula, and creating a convention (+ inside object, - outside object). The real problem is that you'll need to subdivide your object into smaller, reasonable pieces. Create perimeter bounds for each of these...- winwizard3k

Undergrad How to Solve a Second Order Differential Equation with Given Initial Conditions?
However, I do believe in order for it to be a boundary value problem it would require ICs for at least one of its subsequent derivatives. As stated, having two IC for the original function would require you to use just one to solve the given problem.- winwizard3k

Deriving Electric Field in y-direction from Line Charge of Lambda=4.5 nC/m
Just imagine that the apparent charge, when 'felt' from test charges away from the rod convene to a equidistant point on both sides of this rod. Consider this to be the y-distance away from the x-axis (rod). Since this rod is of finite length, then you should approximate the greatest electric...- winwizard3k

Since the past week, I find myself depressed,..
I'd agree with hypatia on this one. Being 'down' is just part of life. Hopefully being 'up' occurs more often, and is more important, than being depressed, but you just need to recenter yourself and focus on what you do best. Look on the bright side of things, because life could certainly be...- winwizard3k
