MHB Finding the Linear Equation Relating Price and Number of Widgets Sold
Okay here's the question: If you sell widgets for 2 dollars, you sell 300 per day. If you sell them for 4 dollars, you sell 200 per day. assume linear relat., between price (x) and # widgets sold per day (y), write linear equation relating x and y I'm thinking I plot the x,y pairs, then...- woof123

MHB Solving z^6=i for arguments between 90 and 180 degrees.
(powers of complex numb.):Find the solution of the following equation whose argument is strictly between 90 degrees and 180 degrees: z^6=i? I don't understand why the modulus of i is 1 and the argument of i can be 90∘ plus any multiple of 360- woof123

MHB Inverse variation or direct or neither?
the volume of a sphere: V=(4/3)pi*r3 To me it looks like it is direct variation with a power function (V/r3=(4/3)*pi)but i don't think that's what they're looking for- woof123

MHB What is the justification for A being a scale drawing of B and an enlargement?
I'm not following what justifications mean and which one is bigger or smaller... There is a drawing in this problem but here's the rest: "The scale factor from A to B is 41.6%. Justify why A is a scale drawing of B and why it's an enlargement of B. Include the scale factor in your justification"- woof123

MHB Math Tutoring Tips: Dealing with Mistakes & Misunderstanding
I am a newer tutor and trying to deal with a couple issues. How do you approach students who 1)frequently make mistakes (negative signs, etc) and 2) think they understand something but didn't do well on the test of that material- woof123

MHB Rational function transformation
sorry but I don't see how factoring the numberator helps get it into the form you described.y=-(5x+18)/(x+4) I see the function is shifted left 4 (as accomplished by the denominator but I'm not understanding how the numerator gets it shifted down 4 (approx). Is the numberator you have now...- woof123

MHB Rational function transformation
the question is: Rewrite the rational equation y=(-5x-18)/(x+4) to show how it is a transformation of y=1/x. describe transformations looks like it is shifted 4 to left, then stretched by factor of -5x-18. Is that accurate? would you elaborate beyond that?- woof123
