Can You Drive a DC Motor at Maximum Speed with Batteries?

Then there is your answer. Convert a drill battery to use with the centrifuge. If it will supply enough amps and last long enough to process then you are in business. Test it out. The centrifuge should give an amp or watt rating on it. The drill battery will also. From this you can estimate...

Can You Drive a DC Motor at Maximum Speed with Batteries?

Just remember; with a DC motor Voltage=speed and Current=torque If you have a motor rated at X volts at Y rpm then it will run Y rpm at X volts, however, you may need current enough to turn it (torque).

Should DC operated oil rigs convert to AC?

Today’s world would seem to dictate that a changeover is needed from DC powered operations to AC for drilling rigs. Is this actually true? Is AC a better deal or a sleeping dog best left alone? DC rig operations have been in existence for many years and have proven reliable so, why the interest...

Best efficiency DC or AC motors?

AC or DC DC is the better choice for power at low speeds. If the AC motor is used a Vector type control would be needed to give torque at low speed. DC is simpler and less expensive and can provide what is needed. A brushless DC motor is nothing more than a glorified induction motor.
