I want to thank you for consistently suggesting Arnold's Texts(s) as recommendations in various threads. I have recently stumbled across his "Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics" book and I'm eager to start. In the preface it says something to the extent of "this text assumes no prior knowledge of mathematics outside the usual courses taken by physics students (differential/integral calc, differential equations, and linear algebra)". I desperately need to work through this book.
