SUMMARY

An international archaeological expedition at Lake Issyk Kul has confirmed the existence of an advanced civilization 2,500 years ago, comparable to the Hellenic civilizations of the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions. The expedition uncovered significant settlements currently submerged underwater, contributing to the understanding of human development patterns. This discovery builds on findings from seven previous expeditions, enhancing the historical narrative surrounding the area. The ongoing analysis of the data and artifacts is expected to yield further insights into this previously unknown culture.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of archaeological methodologies

An international archeological expedition to Lake Issyk Kul, high in the Kyrgyz mountains, proves the existence of an advanced civilization 25 centuries ago, equal in development to the Hellenic civilizations of the northern coast of the Pontus Euxinus (Black Sea) and the Mediterranean coast of Egypt.

The expedition resulted in sensational finds, including the discovery of major settlements, presently buried underwater. The data and artefacts obtained, which are currently under study, apply the finishing touches to the many years of exploration in the lake, made by seven previous expeditions. The addition of a previously unknown culture to the treasury of history extends the idea of the patterns and regularities of human development.

2500yr old remains found
The world's oldest man, a 2500 year old Tibetan by the name of Wt (names were shorter back then) was overtaken by a snowstorm on a skiing trip 7 years ago and was lost for six weeks. A massive manhunt ensued. He was found in the spring thaw, having survived the winter on a diet of yeti scat and ski wax.

Apparently, he has a penchant for this kind of thing, as it has happened three times before. Tibetan officials have long been concerned that their nation's only celebrity would become a liability, and finally took action. Six years ago, he was assigned a security detail to ensure this kind of mishap does not happen again.

To this day, the 2500yr old remains found.

Dave - you get an "A" for the joke. But I don't see how it advances discussion - unless your point was that the thread title was poor. Or you are bored silly.
