Can Military Experience Enhance Math Studies?

Hello all!
I am new here on Physics Forums, I am returning to school and plan to major in Mathematics. I spent ten years in the US military and was a horrible student, nevertheless I am exciting about my upcoming challenge and sure I'll be posting questions here shortly.
