Could a Meson Beam Weapon from Sword of the Stars Ever Be Realistic?

There's this game called sword of the stars and one of the most interesting weapons is the meson beam. Essentially what happens is that mesons are generated and accelerated close to the speed of light so that they decay once they're inside an enemy ship, thus bypassing all defenses and creating a massive explosion.

I was wondering how feasible this would be, if the physics are sound, and what it would take to produce this kind of weapon. Thanks

Not very, not at all, and in light of the 1st two questions, not answerable.
