Doing some review work on physics and , trying to build some simple spectrometer, is it possible to use anti reflect coated lenses or should I use normal lenses

Sadly, I don't think there's been any more thought to it than the Little Rascal's "Hey, let's put on a show!"

The simplest is a diffraction grating in a tube. Zillions have been sold as part of chemistry sets when chemistry sets were a thing. That's clearly not what he wants, as he discusses lenses (which is almost certainly not what he wants based on his description) and sensors. If this is inadequate, he has to tell us where and not rely on our telepathic powers.

Well, I have at least learned something from your reply, even from the question. It never occurred to me I could have a simple spectrometer. For the next comment, can you explain to me what I will use it for? =;-D [No reply needed. How you folks have such relatively kindly replies often feels beyond me, but thanks to your examples I do find it within me to try.]
