SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on the historical experiments that shaped modern physics, specifically mentioning the photoelectric effect, the oil drop experiment, the Michelson–Morley experiment, the Rutherford experiment, Galileo's balls rolling down a slope, and pendulum experiments. Participants seek book recommendations to deepen their understanding of these foundational experiments. A specific book link is provided for further reading.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic physics concepts
  • Familiarity with key historical experiments in physics
  • Knowledge of scientific methodology
  • Ability to analyze experimental data
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of the photoelectric effect on quantum mechanics
  • Study the methodology and significance of the Michelson–Morley experiment
  • Explore the details of the Rutherford experiment and its impact on atomic theory
  • Read about Galileo's experiments and their contributions to classical mechanics

Hi
To gain a more intuitive understanding of physics, I want to learn about the experiments that led to the formulations of the theories. What books can you guys recommend?
