SUMMARY

To find the primary source of an uncredited quote in Wikipedia, users should first identify the specific quote and the corresponding Wikipedia article. A recommended method is to search for the exact quotation using Google, enclosing it in quotation marks for precise results. If the quote is lengthy, searching for a portion of it can yield better results. This approach can lead to discovering suitable references for proper attribution in academic papers.

  • Learn about Wikipedia's citation guidelines and how to properly attribute sources.
  • Explore tools for managing citations, such as Zotero or EndNote.
  • Investigate methods for verifying the credibility of online sources.

What's the quote and link us to the wiki article. Someone might be able to figure something out.

Try searching for the exact quotation in Google, by enclosing it in quotation marks " " . It might appear on some other website that provides a suitable reference.

If it's a very long quotation, searching for only part of it will probably work also.
