How did you find PF?
via Google search
Hello all, glad to be here
I'm passionate of physics, especially quantum physics since my youth decades ago, and have come to the point to be able to introduce myself as a living example that one can come to a basic understanding of quantum physics with very little mathematics. It's possible, you only need to invest some decades of reading at first highly confusing explanations, till one mistery after the other dissolves and you get it!
Hoping to learn more and have fruitful exchanges!

Welcome to the forums. Quantum physics is some pretty complicated stuff. I wish you luck on your journey.

Thank you! Yes, and QM is "spooky", that's why I love it 🫥

You are welcome. QM is spooky. "God does not play dice", as Einstein said. :)

So, you are Swiss?

I'm born and live in Switzerland, in Zürich, but my parents were Italian immigrants, and so I have double citizenship.

That is pretty cool. I was adopted from Bulgaria, and live in the US.

Have you ever been in Bulgaria?

I have not been back. Though, I have been to Holland, as that is where my adoptive dad comes from. We then take side trips sometimes in Europe after visiting dad's family.

If you once come to Zürich, let me know, maybe we could meet. Are you an admin, or a longtime member here?

I am not an admin, nor do I meet with people online. Thanks for the offer, though.

Ok, usually I'm not so "intrusive", sorry. Hope we'll meet again online than

Definitely. So, what got you into quantum physics?

You should consider reading where does the weirdness go?
Sorry, I saw this only today.

Didn't know David Lindley, but what I read on Wikipedia about him sounds very good:
"Lindley is known for writing entertaining scientific texts that show not only great knowledge of physics, but also a wit and understanding of what the layman can grasp. Most of his books explain the scientific theories through the use of a scientist's biography or an historical account of disagreement amongst scientists."

Seems exactly the kind of books I love, will surely buy it. Thanks a lot!

Plus: he is exactly one year younger than I am, Dec. 4, 1956 versus 1957! Good sign I think : )
