HI everyone,

I'm a student of Physics and Mathematics. I thought this would be a good online community to try to involve myself in.

Currently I am teaching myself QFT, and I have recently been getting more curious about condensed matter. But I am still mastering some fundamentals!

My hobbies include computing, philosophy, reading and running. I sometimes write on Substack, and I am working on some essays with a physics orientation.

Indeed it is! I tried starting with Weinberg, who is brilliant, but I was jumping too far ahead. Now I am reading through 'QFT for the Gifted Amateur' by Lancaster and Blundell, and Zee's 'Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell', which are about as friendly as I think real QFT can get.

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
