How does doping affect the degeneracy of semiconductors?

Hello,
I am new to the forum, so I am directly stating my questions.
1)What determines the density of states of Phonons in a semiconductor?
2)Does degeneracy of semiconductors depend only on doping?

Hi.
1) The phonon density of states depends on the crystal structure and elastic properties. In general, harder materials exhibit lower phonon density of states. I've posted something on this subject before.

2) Mostly on doping relative to the density of electron (hole) states. But also temperature.
