I've been studying cryptography and I found out that AES uses Galois Fields. I was therefore wondering where else does abstract algebra pop-up for real world use?
Abstract algebra plays a crucial role in various everyday technologies, particularly in cryptography and digital communication. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) utilizes Galois Fields, showcasing the importance of abstract algebra in securing data. Additionally, applications extend to digital modulation, encoding, and error correction, impacting devices such as cell phones, WiFi routers, satellite TV, and HDTVs. Notably, NASA's deep space probes, including Pioneer and Voyager, also leverage these mathematical principles.
