Improving Tumor Detection with Matlab: A Collaborative Approach

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on improving tumor detection ratios in Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) using Matlab. A third-year Electrical Engineering student from the University of British Columbia seeks access to proprietary code from companies specializing in CAD, emphasizing that the code will not be used commercially and that NDAs can be signed. Forum participants suggest directly contacting companies to negotiate access to the code, while expressing concerns about the approach taken to obtain it.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Familiarity with Matlab programming
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) systems
  • Experience with Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
NEXT STEPS
  • Research methods for improving CAD algorithms in Matlab
  • Learn about best practices for negotiating access to proprietary software
  • Explore existing open-source CAD projects for inspiration
  • Study the ethical implications of using proprietary code in academic projects
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineering students, researchers in medical imaging, developers working on CAD systems, and anyone interested in the intersection of DSP and healthcare technology.

Hey,

I'm working on a DSP project that is using Matlab to improve the detection ratios of Computer aided Diagnosis (CAD). However the companies that are capable of doing this sort of CAD ensure that their code is not distributed.

If anyone has or knows how to get a piece of code like this. It would be greatly appreciated

I am a 3rd year Electrical Engineering student at the University of British Columbia.

This code would not be used for commercial use. NDA's can be signed if it would help.

Thanks!

Then you need to contact the companies directly, and make the offer of signing NDAs. How in the world can we help you with this?

EDIT -- This sounds like a very useful project. My worry is just that you may be going about it in the wrong way...
