Is Destiny Shaped by Future Events Converging with the Present?

I have pondered this question since i was 16yrs old and studying physics at high school.
As we move to the future, is there some part of the future that is moving towards us, and so some people sense that their path that day was destiny? (Jung's serendipity?) Also some will speak about deja vu, and i have wondered if this is related?
