Is there any connection between Space and Time and Spinors?

Spinors work extensively on Tensor algebra. W. Heisenberg was the first to introduce Matrix Mechanics, did he invent the Tensor Algebra?. I wanted to know who influenced Elie Cartan in developing the Theory of Spinors,
