Is time a physical thing like a chair, or a construct we created?

Does time exist in the same sense that my chair physically exists. Or is time something we created to give reference to events?

time doesn't exist like a chair, but it exists like lengths that can measure the dimensions of the chair. It's not just human, time must be for events to even occur in the first place.
