Nobel Laureate Jack Steinberger passed away on the 12th at his home in Geneva. He was 99-1/2.
He received the Nobel in 1988 with Lederman and Schwartz for the "two-neutrino experiment", demonstrating that muon and electron neutrinos were different particles. He was very active in physics until the end; a few years ago I had the pleasure of sitting next to him on a flight out of Geneva talking about recent results.
