A Carson City recluse whose body was found in his home at least a month after he died left only $200 in his bank account.

But as Walter Samaszko Jr.'s house was being cleared for sale, officials made a surprise discovery: gold bars and coins valued at $7 million.

"Nobody had any clue he was hoarding the gold," Carson City Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover told the Las Vegas Sun, adding it was found stored in boxes in the house and garage...

I'm pretty sure I remember from a different article that was posted here on PF that there was a cousin they were trying to get in touch with.

Edit: Looks like it is in this article too, or maybe it was the same article. Hope they find her!

Apparently. Efforts to track down a next-of-kin lead to a disconnected phone#.

The big question is where the hell he got it all. He died with $165,000 in stocks, so maybe he made the 7 mil on the stock market and converted it to gold?
