On when does Hawking radiation begin?

On "when does Hawking radiation begin?"

I have wondered about when, during collapse, Hawing radiation starts (given that an outside observer never sees the horizon reached, classically at least), and asked this here without getting answers (presumably, because there is no well founded answer).

Now I find a paper addressing exactly this set of issues! I post it for general interest:

[edit] quick conclusions:

1) Quantum corrections make the collapse time finite to a distant observer.
2) Pre-hawking radiation begins even before collapse.
