Particle Mesh Size: Finding Average Diameter

Hello, I was wondering if you have for example, a 6/8 mesh, does that mean for the particle diameter you do 0.5(D6) + 0.5(D8) to find an average diameter of the 6/8 mesh particles?

I found the answer to my question, and it is indeed the average size.
