PF PHOTO CONTEST Christmas Lights (Dec 20- 27)

Christmas is also about celebration of the light as the sun returns from its winter solstice Please give us your nicest Christmas lights pictures.

    Contest Rules:

    1. Any digital photo or digitally-scanned photo relevant to the theme will be accepted within the contest period. In case there's a gray area, or you're not sure if the picture is suitable, check with me first.

    2. Please resize your digital photo to no more than 650 x 490 or 490 x 650 pixels. You may also crop your picture if you wish. You are also allowed to adjust the brightness and contrast of your picture but these should not dramatically alter the look of the picture. But other than those, any form of picture editing or modification is not allowed. This is a photo contest, not a picture editing/special effect contest. You may add a watermark or your name/nickname to the photo for identification purposes.

    3. Upload your photos to any of the photo servers such as imageshack or photobucket. Then post it the relevant contest thread and link your picture using the img command. PM me if you do not know how.

    4. Only ONE picture per member per contest. Once a picture is posted, it cannot be changed other than a total withdrawl by that member from that week's photo contest. Exceptions will be made for modification to comply with the rules, such as resizing.

    5. At the end of the contest period, I will open a poll and every PF member can vote for the picture they like best.

    6. Note that in case we have a large number of entries, I will do the polling in more than one thread. If that's the case, you can vote in each of the polling threads. The photos will be assigned in the polling threads in the order they were submitted.

    7. These pictures must be something that you took, not something taken off someone else's photo albums or taken by someone else. I have no way of checking if you did this, so we'll go by the honor system.

    8. You can use a picture only once. Once it is used in a contest, it cannot be reused in another contest.

    9. Please post only pictures meant for submission in this thread.

As this subforum -let alone this thread- has not had a single post in two days maybe because of the Chritmas priorities, maybe it helps to leave this contest open one more day. Or are there no Christmas trees, decorated shopping malls, lighted gardens and houses etc around?

I'm surprised Zz hasn't contributed to this one...he always has a million Christmas-themed photos.

This is all I have this year. I stayed away from crowded, Christmas-decorated parts of NYC this year, and only took a few photos of my nephew opening presents, so all I'm left with is the ones of Ember trying to be an ornament when I started setting up the tree.

It's not a great photo, since I was just snapping quickly with the camera on whatever setting it was on when I saw her in the tree to get pictures before she jumped back out again.

Oh, d'oh, I just noticed the theme was Christmas LIGHTS, not just Christmas decorations. Oh well, I think I will just say that Ember was trying to be one of the Christmas lights instead...or getting in the way of me putting up those Christmas lights. It was a fun photo to share anyway.

Well, she's not a light, but that's a great picture, Moonbear. Ember is so helpful. I just can't believe the tree stayed standing.

I didn't get any pictures of anything with lights on them so I could play along. Sorry Andre. My camera is filled with pictures of smiling people from various events this year.

Edited to add: I second the question about where ZZ is. He has tons and tons and tons of pictures that entail both Christmas and lots of lights.

Partially true. Deadline was extended since there were few submissions.

Since everybody was so busy with Christmas, I thought it was a good idea to keep it going for a while. So you can still post. I'll wrap this up in a few hours.
