Administrative Note: Since I will be going on a vacation in about 2 weeks from now, Evo has graciously agreed to run the PF Photo Contest for the next 3 contests, starting on May 19th. She gets to choose her own themes, do the polling, and update the winners list. So don't you dare give her a hard time or I will hear about it!

    Happy Mother's Day

Since many parts of the world are celebrating Mother's Day this weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to have that as a theme this week. Your picture must have, as it's main subject, mother/s or anything related to Mother's Day. This must be a clear depiction, not simply an inference.

    Contest Rules:

    1. Any digital photo or digitally-scanned photo relevant to the theme will be accepted within the contest period. In case there's a gray area, or you're not sure if the picture is suitable, check with me first.

    2. Please resize your digital photo to no more than 650 x 490 or 490 x 650 pixels. You may also crop your picture if you wish. But other than that, any form of picture editing or modification is not allowed. This is a photo contest, not a picture editing/special effect contest. You may add a watermark or your name/nickname to the photo for identification purposes.

    3. Upload your photos to any of the photo servers such as imageshack. Then post it the relevant contest thread and link your picture using the img command. PM me if you do not know how.

    4. Only ONE picture per member per contest. Once a picture is posted, it cannot be changed other than a total withdrawl by that member from that week's photo contest. Exceptions will be made for modification to comply with the rules, such as resizing.

    5. At the end of the contest period, I will open a poll and every PF member can vote for the picture they like best.

    6. Note that in case we have a large number of entries, I will do the polling in more than one thread. If that's the case, you can vote in each of the polling threads. The photos will be assigned in the polling threads in the order they were submitted.

    7. These pictures must be something that you took, not something taken off someone else's photo albums or taken by someone else. I have no way of checking if you did this, so we'll go by the honor system.

    8. You can use a picture only once. Once it is used in a contest, it cannot be reused in another contest.

    9. Please post only pictures meant for submission in this thread.

    Zz.

Wow! I would think there would be lots of pictures of mothers or things related to Mother's Day. Oh well, here's mine. This was from last year's Halloween Parade here in my neighborhood. A mother's job is never done.

Here's a photo taken some years of ago with three generations of moms: My wife, her mother, and her mother's mother. (That's our daughter sitting on Great-Grandma's lap, making four generation in total.)

Actually, if you look closely, there's actually two little tykes in there. The one sitting behind was so tired, he/she is bent over asleep! :)

Thank you. I can't wait for these next 2 weeks to go by.

Thank you. Since this picture was taken my wife's grandmother has passed away and our daughter has started college.

Zz, I thought that the part at the back was part of the lion costume. Looking closely I sure see the second lil tyke, and man does he look done. The expression on the mum's face is just perfect

Janus, sorry to hear about your wife's grandmother. Your daughter is in college ? That must be one real old cherished photo.

Zz, so where are you off to ? (couldn't resist askin )

Since people are curious to know, I will tell you.

I'll be starting off in Fredricksburg, VA and will spend 3 days there. Then on Memorial Day, May 28th, I fly off to Orlando and finish off the week at Walt Disney World (of course). So it will be a fun trip.

I really need to find myself a scanner. I've usually got a pic thats suitable for a contest, but never have a way to submit it

    Edit: Aha!
