The discussion revolves around a photo contest themed "What Is It?", where participants must submit digital photos of unfamiliar objects, ensuring the entire object is visible. Contest rules specify that photos should be resized to 800 x 600 pixels, and only one submission per member is allowed. Participants can choose to reveal the object's identity either with their submission or wait until polling begins. There is a focus on maintaining the integrity of the photo, with minimal editing allowed, primarily for brightness and contrast adjustments. The conversation includes hints about the nature of some objects, such as an old art form from West Bengal, India, and discussions about the purpose of various submitted items, like a paperweight or a candle holder. Participants also share personal anecdotes related to the objects, enhancing engagement and curiosity. The thread emphasizes the importance of originality, as photos must be taken by the submitter and cannot be reused in future contests.

At least it contains quite a large amount of time: Constant dripping wears away the stone!

Looks suspiciously similar to something I also made, in shop class, ≈40 years ago.

Ford Escort engine water outlet & gasket
Top one: They ALL leak around the o-ring that fits in that groove around the opening .
Bottom one: I filled the groove with epoxy and sanded the surface flat, cut an old fashioned Felpro paper gasket .
Doing fine for several years now..
