SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the usage of the "plus sign in triangle," "minus sign in triangle," and "multiplication sign in triangle" symbols, particularly in the context of their application to images as described in an 80's paper. Participants seek references or textbooks that illustrate these symbols in various contexts beyond the original paper. The inquiry highlights the challenge of interpreting these symbols, suggesting that they may represent unique concepts not widely documented.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of mathematical symbols and their applications in theoretical contexts.
  • Familiarity with academic research papers, particularly in mathematics or image processing.
  • Knowledge of the concepts of "internal law" and "external law" as they relate to image processing.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret specialized symbols in scholarly literature.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the application of mathematical symbols in image processing literature.
  • Explore academic papers that discuss the "internal law" and "external law" concepts in detail.
  • Investigate textbooks on mathematical notation and its usage in various fields.
  • Look for resources that explain the creation and interpretation of unique mathematical symbols.
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, mathematicians, and students interested in the application of specialized mathematical symbols in theoretical frameworks, particularly in image processing and mathematical notation.

Can anyone refer me to a paper where the "plus sign in triangle", "minus sign in triangle", and/or "multiplication sign in triangle" are used? I'm reading a paper from the 80's where these symbols act on an image ("internal law" and "external law"); however, I'd like to see the symbols applied elsewhere. A textbook resource is fine as well. Thank you!

It's difficult to decipher what these symbols mean. Can you provide a reference or a link to the paper in which you found them? Sometimes, authors create special symbols to express concepts which have otherwise not been explored.
