SUMMARY

Emilio Torrente-Lujan's preprint revisits his 2014 publication in Eur. Phys. J. C 74 (2014) 2744 and arXiv:1209.0474, focusing on electroweak scale coincidences. The discussion references key equations such as the Veltman condition from Acta Phys. Polon. B 12 (1981) 437 and relations involving Higgs, W, Z boson masses, and fermion masses summing to the electroweak vacuum expectation value squared (v²). Some preprints like arXiv:1305.4208 remain unpublished, while others such as arXiv:1409.0492 have been formally published in journals like Springer’s Physics of Particles and Nuclei. The forum emphasizes tracking published versus unpublished results and compiling them into a comprehensive table for clarity.

PREREQUISITES

  • Electroweak theory and the Standard Model mass relations
  • Understanding of the Veltman condition and its implications
  • Familiarity with arXiv preprint archives and journal publication processes in particle physics
  • Basic knowledge of Higgs boson, W and Z boson masses, and fermion mass contributions

NEXT STEPS

  • Create a detailed comparative table of electroweak coincidence equations from preprints and published papers
  • Review Emilio Torrente-Lujan’s 2014 Eur. Phys. J. C publication and related arXiv preprints for updated analyses
  • Study the Veltman condition’s role in electroweak scale stability and its historical development
  • Investigate the impact of fermion mass sums on electroweak vacuum expectation value calculations

USEFUL FOR

Particle physicists, theoretical physicists studying electroweak symmetry breaking, researchers analyzing mass relations in the Standard Model, and academics tracking the publication status of key theoretical preprints in high-energy physics.

TL;DR
I will keep updating the table, but paste any references (arxiv or journals) in the thread
I have been told of a new preprint of Emilio Torrente-Lujan that revisits his publication Eur. Phys. J. C 74 (2014) 2744, arXiv:1209.0474 of coincidences in the electroweak scale. If I recall correctly we revised in the forum a lot of them, at the time of preprints, but I have not tracked which ones have been actually published and follow. Dare someone to do a table?
