My oatmeal package has a joke on it, but I don't get it. Help me out here.

Q: When did dinosaurs first become popular?

A: Over 150 years ago.

Cause that is when their remnants/fossils were first found...maybe?

It seems to be informational and not a joke.

It's probably only a joke for those slapjacks in the oatmeal industry. Maybe it's british humor. -Dave

Oh now, it's widely known that no one understands British humour, not even some British.

Speaking of oatmeal, I just made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. (stuffs some warm cookies into Wolram's harddrive)

Ooh, can I have some too? And you better send some to Enigma (where has that little winged guy been anyway?), oatmeal cookies are his favorite!

I made my famous bacon-chocolate chip cookies for the department picnic last week. Two different old ladies asked me for the recipe.

  • #11
Yes, that is relatively when the first dinosaur fossils were found.

  • #12
Maybe fossils were found then, but I still don't get why it's funny?

  • #13
But it isn't.

When do you think fossils were found?

I meant: it isn't funny.

rejected oatmeal package jokes:

Q: How do you know if there's a dinosaur under your bed?
A: Your nose hits the ceiling!

Q: How many dinosaurs can fit in an empty box?
A: One. After that, the box isn't empty anymore!

Q: How can you tell if there's a dinosaur in the refrigerator?
A: The door won't close!

May I have it please. I'll file it right behind my cat litter cake recipe. I've started collecting and making "out of the ordinary recipes" for work so that no one can copy them. No one tries to outdo the old lady and her Grammies Snicker-doodles or whatever. Bacon-chocolate chip cookies sounds like just the ticket. Try making an apple tartlette with strawberry syrup instead of sugar and butter. The trick is sloooooowwwww. :-p

This just goes to prove that anything worth knowing is printed on instant oatmeal packets. Go out and share your new-found knowledge with those who need it.

From: the back of a Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal packet

"Q.: When did dinosaurs first become popular?"
"A.: Over 150 years ago--thanks in part to a London exhibit in 1851 that included full-size replicas of dinosaurs."

Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Ahhh . . . London. Now I get it. Ha Ha Ha lol

Q: How do you catch an elephant?
A: Hide in the bushes and make a noise like a peanut.

It's not a joke. Some of the cereal packets just have trivia on them, not jokes.

Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to speak in gibberish.

It's funny because of London.
