AI Thread Summary
A boy was found dead with a rope tied around his neck, lying in water in a locked room with no windows. The room contained minimal furniture, specifically one chair and the rope connected to the boy's body. The discussion revolves around solving this mystery, with participants questioning whether it is a homework assignment or a puzzle for placement preparation. There is confusion about the term "empty top," which is compared to a scene from the movie "Three Days of the Condor." Additionally, a parallel is drawn to a scenario involving car tires and ice, highlighting how environmental changes can affect situations, but this seems to diverge from the main topic of the boy's death. The focus remains on the need for logical reasoning to deduce the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Welcome to PF.

Is this a homework assignment?

Its not my homework assighnment. I am just preparing for placements . I found this site very interesting .
and I just thought one question and posted it

I know the answer is
ice
even though I don't understand the question. What is an empty top?

Ahh the opening of the old Three Days of the Condor movie with Robert Redford.

Also the Car Talk guys had a similar one with water in the tires, freezing in the morning causing the tire to be unbalanced giving a rough ride. However when the car owner brings the car into be inspected no problem was found because the day got warmer and the ice melted and evenly coated the inside of the tire presrving the balance.

Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
