(hmmm-I really need to get a better camera than my 10 year old Mavica--great at the time but every photo compared to all the others makes mine look like ALL of mine are out of focus and belong in the 'bad photo' contest)

Nah, no offense hypatia, but it just doesn't "do it" for me.
 
None taken binzing, I love everyones photos.
 
Went with Alex's - it felt really balanced, didn't have much distracting from the central theme, and had nice visual texture.

When I 'get a round to it', I'm going to look up what the name is and what specifically causes that smoke ring shaped cloud above the tree in hypatia's photo---
